Emmanuel's Visit Day 5

8:30 AM: Same as every morning, Emmanuel dragged himself away from the warmth of his sheets and got into some clothes. I decided to take him to the Mustang Waterslides. I have gone to that waterpark annually for countless years, and it is always great to go down those two long slides again. It really never gets old for me. Emmanuel had never gone on a waterslide before, so he really didn't know what to expect. I told him that I wasn't going to try to explain it to him, he would just have to see for himself once we got there, but I did tell him that he was going to need swim trunks.

11:30 AM: After a fast breakfast, we headed down to the waterpark. Once Emmanuel caught a glimpse of the towering slides and saw the kids and adults going down them, he started to jump up and down like a little kid, itching to get on the slides. Once we had paid our admission fee, we raced into the park, took off our shoes and grabbed a mat. Since the park had just opened there were no lines for the waterslides, so we hopped right on. I yelled "See you at the bottom!" and Emmanuel disappeared around the first bend. When I met him at the bottom, he had a big, goofy grin on his face and he said that he wanted to do it again. Just by seeing his face, I knew it was going to be a good day.

4:30 PM: We stayed until almost closing time, and Emmanuel never got tired of the big blue slides, but then again I didn't either. The three musketeers headed home buzzing with excitement and stories about our days. When we got home, Emmanuel crashed on the couch and read some of a book that he brought along with him. I could tell why he was tired, after just a few rides he was starting to go on his knees, do 360's and all sorts of wild man things. I crashed too, but I had some mom-assigned homework to do before my mom got home from Paris, so I got started on that instead.

7:30 PM: No one was really in the mood to go out for dinner, so we just stayed at home for the night. It was one of our better nights, because everyone was in good spirits and I got to call my mom again and tell her about our day at the park. Plus, you can't go wrong with pasta and a movie, can you? After watching on of my favorite movies, Wag the Dog, we all hit the sack as early as we could because tomorrow was Sunday, and we were going to take Emmanuel to church. Plus, it was our last full day with Emmanuel and we couldn't waste any time lounging around in the morning.
