8:00 AM: Emmanuel dragged himself out of bed wearing only his underwear and went straight to the bathroom to take a shower. Once he got out, he asked me where we were going for breakfast. I told him I had decided to take him to Anna's Bakery, because every time I go there, I get hypnotized by the amazing smells that are coming from the donuts and other pastries. After hearing that, Emmanuel was ready to go in record time. My dad got the car ready and we drove to Goleta. Upon arrival, Emmanuel walked into the store as fast as possible without it looking suspicious. I guess he was hungry! He ordered 2 donuts, one maple log and one chocolate log, a large cup of coffee, and a english muffin with cheese, ham and green peppers. I asked him if was going to be able to eat that much, and he said he would manage. Well he sure did, and he wolfed it down in record time too.
10:00 AM: When we got home from breakfast, I told Emmanuel I was going to take him boogie boarding. He looked confused, and I didn't understand why until I realized he probably didn't know what boogie boarding was. I told him it was like surfing, only the board was shorter and you didn't stand up. He asked me where we were going to boogie board and I said I would take him to Campus Point, which is a good place for beginners. When we got there, Emmanuel got into his wetsuit and reluctantly got into the water with his boogie board.
2:00 PM: Turns out, Emmanuel was a natural at boogie boarding and he was soon catching waves without difficulty! He was having so much fun, that we stayed in the water a lot longer than we intended to, and when we got out, it was already 2:00! We dried off and got back in the car, and headed home. Emmanuel was really excited about boogie boarding and chatted the whole way home about how he caught a certain wave or how big the waves were at one point, until suddenly he got really tired and said he was going to take a quick nap. He headed off to his room and went to sleep.
3:00 PM: Emmanuel wakes up, and we head off to the bowling alley on a spontaneous decision by me. We arrive at Zodos about 15 minutes later, we rent out shoes and get started on our hour of bowling.
4:00 PM We finished up bowling an hour later. Emmanuel liked bowling, but he was having some difficulties at first because he didn't have the bumpers up, but then he finally gave in and admitted that he needed the bumpers, and he did much better after that. We headed home, and then we both showered and got dressed for dinner. We had a few minutes, and so I decided to try to teach him how to play chess. He didn't do very well because he had a hard time wrapping his mind around it and so I beat him pretty handily, but he was a good sport and accepted his loss graciously. After that, it was time for dinner.
5:30 PM: For dinner that night, we went to Ca'darios to give him a taste of Italian food. He ordered a big plate of lasagna with a side of garlic balls, which was a very good choice. He wolfed down his dinner (I guess he was pretty hungry because of all that boogie boarding we did), but we stayed there and talked for a while, until we both decided we needed to go to bed pretty early that night so we headed home.
8:00 PM: Once we got home, we had a bit of dessert and then we both hit the sack, because I had an early morning planned for us the next morning. The sleep we got was much-needed and very deep, and we were ready to face the next morning.
